We will try to get this fix added to a future update and roll it out widely. So I request you to apply the registry setting for now to workaround the issue. It is this one query that is sent during initialization causes the device to sulk, and then it never internally recovers.Īnother thing to note is that this issue manifest only for composite devices.įortunately there is a registry override to inform the core USB stack to not send this query. So from looking at the bus trace, every thing looks good. The interesting part is that the even though the device is not fully functional, it doesn't fail any I/O.

The 3.0 host controller driver in Windows 8.1 is forwarding a MSOS descriptor query to the device and that some how causes the device to get confused. We debugged the issue and found the regression. Marked as answer donmeczblast 10:49:45 PM Thanks for all the help guys, let's keep it One day, we will overcome every problem and refocus our time and effort into making great music For the others issues, I am sure we will find the solutions. It gets it little annoying, because it's tedious.īut, at least I was able to fix the problem with the MIDI signal. I have to repeat all these steps, in this order, every time Reaper loses the signal. Unplug my Tascam and unplug my keyboard 3. Second, whenever my computer goes to sleep or stays idles for some time, it seems Reaper loses the MIDI signal. Any other recording (e.g., vocals) I am able too. First, for some reason, I can't hear my recording when I try to playback. Now am able to see a signal in Reaper and I can finally record. I tried so many things and in turn out to be as simple as changing a USB port. So it turns out that I had to plug my tascam in a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 !! Now it works !! It was so frustrating. If anyone could help me resolve this problem, I would really appreciated it. I've tried a lot of suggestions off the internet but nothing has changed. However, I don't understand why I still can't see any signal in Reaper on my track's meter when I press a key on my keyboard.

Also, the MIDI IN on my Tascam lights up so I know that MIDI signal is getting through and I have installed the latest drivers for my audio interface with the disc that came with it. In Reaper, I've correctly setup my MIDI device in Option > Preferences by enabling it, so that's fine. They're able to recognize that I have my audio interface connected, and I am able to record for example guitar with no problem, but no MIDI. I've tried 3 DAW's, Reaper, Cubase and FL Studio 11, but with no avail. I know that MIDI IN from my audio interface goes to MIDI OUT on my keyboard and vice-versa. I've also connected correctly the MIDI cables. For some reason I can't get any signal from my keyboard in my recording software. I've successfully recorded all but the latter. I've recently bought a new audio interface, the Tascam US-122MKII, to record audio, guitar and MIDI tracks.
